On the nose are massive waves of dark chocolate, tobacco, Sherry-soaked raisins and roasted chestnuts. A touch of liquorice root.Ā The palate hasĀ roasted chestnut, now with notes of oily walnut and dry oak. Cherry, redcurrant, thick treacle and a touch of cracked black pepper.
Dry spices last ages on the finish, with chocolate-covered raisins bringing a balancing sweetness.
