The Saxum Heart Stone Vineyard 2022 is a bold, "overwhelmingly impressive" red.
Appearance: Deep garnet-purple.
Nose: Intense and multifaceted, featuring aromas of baked black plums, boysenberries, and mocha, accented by savory flower, bay leaves, herbes de Provence, and black cardamom.
Palate: Full-bodied and velvety. It delivers a mouth-filling experience of roasted fig, blackberry sauce, and star anise. The texture is defined by grainy, "sandy" tannins and refreshing acidity that offsets the high concentration of fruit.
Technical Details: The 2022 blend is composed of 31% Syrah, 29% Grenache, 22% Graciano, and 18% Mataro (Mourvèdre). It is known for its high alcohol content, reaching 16.0% ABV. It is aged with very little new oak, mostly in larger puncheons, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
