O'Rourke's Peak Cellars Chardonnay 2018

O'Rourke's Peak Cellars Chardonnay 2018

O’Rourke’s Peak Cellars is located in Lake Country, in the northern part of the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. The estate was founded by Dennis O’Rourke, an Alberta businessman, and today the winery spans more than 110 acres with a focus on crafting expressive wines from estate-grown fruit. The winery is recognized for its commitment to sustainable vineyard practices and a philosophy of producing wines that reflect the unique Lake Country terroir.

Wine Description
This Chardonnay is made with estate fruit and vinified using whole-bunch pressing, overnight settling, and barrel aging for ten months, with approximately twenty percent new oak. It shows aromas of orchard fruits such as green and yellow apple, along with ripe pineapple and citrus zest. Subtle baking spice and a hint of pie crust add depth. The palate is creamy yet fresh, with balanced acidity, medium body, and a lingering finish marked by minerality and elegance.

Accolades

  • Gismondi on Wine – 91 points

  • WineAlign – 89 points

Food Pairing
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roasted chicken, seared scallops, or creamy pasta dishes. The combination of freshness and richness also complements grilled salmon or lobster.
