Nakano Matcha Umeshu - 300 ml

Nakano Matcha Umeshu - 300 ml

Nakano BC is a historic sake brewery and distillery located in the lush mountains of Wakayama, Japan. Founded in 1932, the company draws on deep-rooted traditions while embracing innovation in flavour crafting. Known for its artisanal umeshu (plum wine), Nakano BC takes pride in using only high-quality, locally grown Nanko ume and natural spring water from the Fujishiro region.

Sake Description
A captivating fusion of traditional umeshu and Japanese green tea, Nakano Matcha Umeshu presents a vivid jade-green hue. On the nose, it exudes fragrant notes of sweet plum, fresh-cut grass, and earthy matcha. The palate opens with luscious sweetness from ripe ume, balanced by a creamy texture and the slightly bitter, umami-rich depth of Kyoto-grown matcha. Medium-bodied with a soft, velvety mouthfeel, it finishes smooth and lingering, with a refreshing herbal note. Crafted from 100% Japanese ume and ceremonial-grade matcha, this unique liqueur is best enjoyed slightly chilled or over ice, with an optimal drinking window within 1–2 years of bottling for peak vibrancy.

Food Pairing
Ideal alongside light desserts such as matcha tiramisu or mochi, it also complements savoury dishes like agedashi tofu and sushi rolls with a hint of sweetness. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
