Fielding Estate Riesling 2023

Fielding Estate Riesling 2023

Crafted in Canada’s Niagara Peninsula, the 2023 Fielding Estate Riesling hails from the Beamsville Bench subregion, renowned for its mineral-rich soils and cool climate. Fielding Estate Winery, a family-run establishment since 2005, is celebrated for producing small-lot, award-winning wines that reflect the unique terroir of their estate vineyards. Their commitment to quality and sustainability has positioned them as a standout in Ontario’s wine scene.

Wine Description

This Riesling presents a brilliant pale straw hue. On the nose, it offers expressive aromas of fresh-squeezed lime, pink grapefruit, peach, and apricot jam. The palate is vibrant and fruit-forward, showcasing citrus-fruit notes complemented by a rich mouthfeel and bright acidity. Fermented cool in stainless steel, the wine achieves a harmonious balance between its natural sweetness and refreshing acidity. With an alcohol content of 10.2% and a residual sugar of 16.0 g/L, it is slightly off-dry, making it both approachable and versatile.

Food Pairing

This Riesling pairs exceptionally well with a variety of dishes. Its bright acidity and slight sweetness complement spicy cuisines, such as Thai spring rolls or curries. It also enhances the flavours of roasted poultry, pork, and vinaigrette-based salads. For cheese lovers, it matches beautifully with goat cheese and robust blue cheeses. These pairings highlight the wine’s depth and character.
