Produced in the Maremma Toscana region of Italy, Le Sughere di Frassinello 2021 is the prestigious second label of the Rocca di Frassinello estate. The winery is a landmark joint venture between Castellare di Castellina and Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), merging Italian tradition with French winemaking expertise. The estate features a striking cellar designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano, which serves as a 'cathedral of wine' dedicated to enhancing the quality of grapes grown in these historic Etruscan soils.

Wine Description

This vintage presents a deep ruby red colour and opens with a broad, intense bouquet of red berries, crushed flowers, and blackcurrant, accented by notes of eucalyptus, liquorice root, and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied and succulent, showing a lush structure of cherry and blackberry flavours supported by a mineral underpinning and hints of mocha. The mouthfeel is characterized by soft, round tannins and a fine balance that leads into a long, enveloping finish with a pleasant persistence.
