Biondi Santi Brunello di Montalcino 2018

Biondi Santi Brunello di Montalcino 2018

Biondi-Santi, nestled in the heart of Tuscany's Montalcino region, is renowned for its pivotal role in crafting Brunello di Montalcino wines. Established in 1888 by Ferruccio Biondi Santi, the estate has been instrumental in elevating the Sangiovese grape to new heights. The 2018 vintage marks a significant chapter, being the first entirely overseen by the new team under CEO Giampiero Bertolini and Technical Director Federico Radi, following the 2016 acquisition by the Paris-based EPI holding company.

Wine Description

The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino presents a luminous ruby red hue with subtle garnet reflections. The nose is intricate and aromatic, offering notes of dried herbs, violet, orange zest, forest berries, Morello cherry, and crushed mint. On the palate, it is vibrant and succulent, with a harmonious balance between fresh acidity and polished tannins. The wine concludes with a saline touch, adding complexity to its lingering finish.
